These dual connotations—aural and mental—resonate throughout the exhibition and this accompanying publication.Céline Mathieu’s work moves between the sensory and the conceptual, integrating multiple media to explore the circulation of thoughts and materials in relation to specific sites. Through the current global circumstances, we are not only dealing with (our) viral bodies, vulnerable bodies, and lonely bodies; in attempts to continue life, we manifest ourselves nonstop behind our screens as virtual bodies and data bodies. This creates new life forms, but also more techniques to be controlled, excluded, and manipulated. For much longer we have been dealing with social and political differentiations that are made between bodies that matter and those that would matter less. All over the world, protest is embodied by people assembling and allying in resistance. What are experimental and emancipating strategies and practices for fluid embodiments? Writers try to translate these languages into something meaningful. There come many a time when writers are lost and need others to see if this translation means something to other people. Together with Leo Bussi and βήτα ταυ, Afro Xylanthé founded The Scriptors: an experimental writing group hoping to create a space where writers can meet, present their work, give and receive feedback. The Scriptors firmly believe that the writing process can only be enhanced when viewed as a collective activity.Leo currently lives in Scotland, βήτα ταυ in Belgium, and Afro in the Netherlands. At that moment, Afro decided she wanted to be that friend for others. Κάποτε, ταξιδεύοντας με το περιβόητο βελγικό τραίνο, η Άφρο βρέθηκε χαμένη σε ένα χωριό – χωρίς να έχει κάποιο μέσο επικοινωνίας. Σε αυτόν τον ξεχασμένο σταθμό τραίνων, μόνη της συντροφιά ήταν ο Théophile Gautier. Τότε, η Άφρο αποφάσισε να ακολουθήσει το παράδειγμά του και να προσπαθήσει να σταθεί εξίσου καλή φίλη για τους δικούς της αναγνώστες. Αργότερα, ολοκλήρωσε σπουδές Τέχνης και Πολιτισμού, με ειδίκευση στη Λογοτεχνία και τη Δημιουργική Γραφή, στις Κάτω Χώρες, όπου και κατοικεί.
